Portrush is one of the largest town on the Causeway Coast Way and is the final town in County Antrim before crossing the boundary line to reach Portstewart. The hub of the town is based on the neck of Ramore Head. The town is bustlin during the summer and has a large selection of shops, pubs and restaurants.

Portrush has two stretches of sandy beaches, both of which have been awarded a blue flag. There is also the Coastal Zone, which is a centre for marine and coastal education. The Centre is open to the public and is conveniently located on the Bath Road where the Causeway Coast Way passes the front door. Across the road are the Antrim Gardens which provide a nice, relaxing area to have a break.
